Beijing Yukou 4 million sets of breeding chicken project

I. Project Overview

The Beijing Yukou 4 Million Parent-Stock Layer Breeder Project is a large-scale automated layer breeder farming project in which Guangzhou Guangxing Animal Husbandry Equipment Group participated. The project serves Beijing Huadu Yukou Poultry Industry Co., Ltd. and is designed to meet the requirements of large-scale parent-stock layer breeder farming, hatching egg production, flock health management, and poultry genetic breeding.

A complete set of automated breeder-rearing equipment was installed to upgrade breeder production from conventional labour-intensive management to standardized, mechanized, and automated operation.

Yukou Poultry’s core production base is located in Yukou Town, Pinggu District, Beijing. The company has established a comprehensive layer breeding and multiplication system covering pure-line, grandparent-stock, parent-stock, and commercial-layer generations. According to publicly available information, during the development stage associated with this project, the company’s parent-stock breeder capacity reached approximately 4 million sets, making it one of China’s larger layer breeding and multiplication enterprises.

Guangzhou Guangxing supplied Yukou Poultry with a complete range of automated breeder-rearing equipment. Through the coordinated application of automatic feeding, automatic drinking, automatic manure removal, hatching egg collection, poultry-house ventilation, and environmental control systems, the project reduces repetitive manual work and improves consistency in breeder management.

These systems provide essential equipment support for maintaining hatching egg quality, fertility rates, hatchability, and a stable supply of commercial-layer chicks. Guangzhou Guangxing’s corporate development records also confirm that the company began supplying complete automated breeder-rearing equipment to Beijing Huadu Yukou Poultry Industry Co., Ltd.

III. Project Background

Layer breeders are located at the upstream end of the layer breeding and production system. Pure-line birds are multiplied through grandparent-stock and parent-stock generations, ultimately creating the capacity to supply commercial-layer chicks to egg farms.

Compared with conventional commercial layer farms, breeder farms must manage not only feed, drinking water, and poultry-house conditions, but also flock uniformity, health status, laying performance, hatching egg cleanliness, fertility rates, and incubation quality.

Yukou Poultry has established a relatively complete layer breeding and multiplication system. The company has independently developed several layer breeds and lines, including Jinghong No. 1, Jingfen No. 1, Jingfen No. 2, Jingbai No. 1, and Jingfen No. 6.

Publicly available information indicates that the “Jing” series of layer chickens has achieved substantial market coverage in China. The company’s large breeder production capacity and commercial chick supply volume place high demands on the reliability and operational stability of automated poultry equipment.

Under large-scale breeder production conditions, relying on manual labour for feeding, drinking-system inspection, manure removal, and hatching egg transportation requires a substantial workforce. It can also lead to inconsistent management standards between different poultry houses and production batches.

The project therefore uses complete automated systems to standardize production procedures and improve the stability of breeder rearing and hatching egg production.

IV. Guangzhou Guangxing Project Solution

To meet the requirements of continuous production and stable operation at a large-scale breeder farm, Guangzhou Guangxing supplied complete equipment and system support, including the following solutions:

Breeder-Rearing Equipment Configuration

The equipment layout was designed according to breeder type, growth stage, poultry-house dimensions, and target stocking capacity. This configuration improves the utilization of poultry-house space and production areas.

Automated Production Systems

High-frequency production processes, including feeding, drinking, manure removal, and hatching egg transportation, were mechanized and automated to reduce labour intensity and dependence on manual operation.

Poultry-House Environmental Control

Considering Beijing’s significant seasonal temperature variations and the environmental requirements of large-scale breeder farming, ventilation and environmental control equipment was installed to maintain relatively stable indoor conditions.

Production Process Integration

The hatching egg collection system inside the poultry houses was connected with subsequent egg inspection, storage, and incubation processes, reducing intermediate handling and direct human contact.

Installation and Operational Support

Guangzhou Guangxing provided technical support for equipment installation, commissioning, operator training, and subsequent maintenance to support the long-term and reliable operation of the breeder farm.

V. Project Achievements

Through the application of complete automated equipment, the Beijing Yukou 4 Million Parent-Stock Layer Breeder Project integrates breeder rearing, hatching egg production, and poultry-house environmental management into a coordinated production system. This has strengthened the standardized production capacity of the large-scale breeder farm.

The automatic feeding and drinking systems improve the consistency of feed and water supply. The automatic egg collection system reduces manual egg collection and handling. The manure removal system improves poultry-house hygiene, while the ventilation and environmental control systems reduce the effects of outdoor temperature fluctuations on breeder production.

The project has also changed the main responsibilities of farm personnel. Instead of manually distributing feed, collecting eggs, and removing manure, employees increasingly focus on equipment inspections, flock observation, production data recording, and abnormal-condition handling.

This transformation reduces dependence on manual labour and improves management consistency between different poultry houses and production batches.

Supported by its large-scale breeder production capacity and comprehensive genetic breeding system, Yukou Poultry can continuously supply commercial-layer chicks to the market. The project provides a strong production foundation for promoting the “Jing” series of layer breeds and strengthening China’s independent control of core layer genetics.

In 2023, Jinghong No. 1 breeder chickens independently developed by Yukou Poultry were exported to Tanzania for the first time, representing an important breakthrough in the international export of independently developed Chinese poultry breeding stock.
